Seven Clues that Your Boss Will Never Like You

You’ve been toiling away at your current job for years, but are you one of millions wondering if there will ever come a day when your boss likes and respects you? And if not, is it disheartening enough to make you rethink your position and begin a serious job search?

For some in this brutal economy, answering these questions may be irrelevant, because the thought of leaving their jobs is completely out of the question. But for many others, recognition of a lack of collegiality and admiration by their superiors spells a career impasse, aside from daily doses of discomfort at the office. However, many simply lack the focus or awareness to even recognize if their bosses harbor regard for them.

Of course, these traits inspire respect and warmth from hiring managers only if, as the piece points out, the hiring managers are confident and competent themselves. So if you boast all of these attributes below and your boss still does not like and respect you, it may be a telltale sign that he or she never will:

1. You do what it takes to get the job done.
2. You meet your commitments.
3. You’re brave.
4. You challenge the status quo.
5. You’re an innovative problem solver.
6. Your have razor-like focus.
7. You’re low maintenance.

These traits essentially demonstrate that you are competent, reliable, unflappable, invigorating, creative, disciplined, and efficient. In essence, traits that every secure and capable boss should treasure in an employee.
